Diwali - Festival of lights

Diwali or Deepawali - one of the most important festivals celebrated in India is a 5 day Hindu festival that occurs on the fifteenth day of Kartika (October/November). The word “diwali” means “rows of lighted lamps” and the festival is often referred to as the “Festival of Lights”. On Diwali Goddess Laxmi also known as Goddess of wealth and prosperity is worshipped. It is believed that Goddess Laxmi visits and brings peace and prosperity to all. This festival honor’s Lord Rama’s return to his kingdom Ayodhya after completing his 14-year exile.
