Childhood is about innocence and playfulness. Children are the future of society, country and mankind. Even though Children’s day is universally celebrated on 20th November, Children’s day in India is celebrated on 14th November.

India’s first prime minister, Pandit (Teacher) Jawaharlal Nehru, was born on November 14. After his death in 1964, his birthday has been celebrated as children’s Day in India because of his love and passion for children. To the kids he was and is not the Indian political leader and Prime Minister but is and has been known as Chacha (Uncle) Nehru.

Jawaharlal Nehru is widely regarded as the architect of modern India. He was born on November 14, 1889 to Mr. Motilal Nehru and Mrs. Swaroop Rani . He recieved a Law degree from Trinity College, Cambridge. In 1947, he became the first Prime Minister of independent India. He died of a heart attack on May 27, 1964.
