Content Management System

There are different types of CMS. Web content management systems are mostly used for saving, maintaining, tracking published information be it on web or in the local intranet (web based system inside a company/local network)

CMS can broadly fall into all or some of the following features:

Ability to create, update and delete documents or materials
Create roles such as author, admin, visitor (this applies to web blog cms)
Workflow process is created, for example in a magazine industry (local intranet cms) - an author writes articles, and then verified by
the editor.
Local software companies have wiki installed to share knowledge and maintains versions.
And the famous wikipedia.org is based on CMS as well.

This site makku.com is based on Wordpress CMS - were we write articles, edit them dynamically. Restrict comments, include categories, etc.,
