Phishing is a type of internet fraud / scam. It is an attempt to steal sensitive valuable and confidential information like SSN , user id’s, passwords, credit card details etc. Phishing attacks use e-mail , instant messaging or internet websites that are designed to look genuine in order to trick users into revealing their personal , financial, or computer account details.The attacker can then use this information for criminal purposes like identity theft, larceny, or fraud.
Tips to protect :
1) Install the Microsoft Phishing Filter using Internet Explorer 7 ( IE 7).
2) Install up-to-date antivirus and antispyware software.
